You may not take street drugs containing nitrates such as amyl nitrate and butyl nitrate (‘poppers’) while taking tadalafil.
A number of people experienced a sudden loss of some or all of their vision after they took tadalafil or other medications that are similar to tadalafil. The vision loss was permanent in some cases. It is not known if the vision loss was caused by the medication. If you experience a sudden loss of vision while you are taking tadalafil, inform your MD immediately. Do not take any more doses of tadalafil or similar medications such as sildenafil (Viagra) or vardenafil (Levitra) until you discuss to your MD.
Tadalafil 2.5mg or 5mg pills may be taken once a day. Such once a day use of Tadalafil is suitable for people who anticipate occasional use of Tadalafil, Levitra or Viagra (at least twice a week) who have had a good response to Tadalafil, Levitra or Viagra when used “as required”. It is usual to start once a day treatment with Tadalafil with the 5mg dose. The 2.5mg dose may be used if you experience unacceptable side effects. Take one tablet a day at approximately the same time of day. You may find it helpful to make taking your tablet a part of your daily routine, for example when you brush your teeth. It may take up to 5 days before the full effect of the treatment is experienced, as the levels in your body build up over time. After 5 days the levels have built up to a point where you can respond naturally whenever you are sexually stimulated. Your treatment can be taken with or without food.
